Choices Pregnancy Center exists to be the supportive friends that women need when facing a crisis involving pregnancy. We offer that strong shoulder to lean on, that understanding smile of encouragement, and that source of positive solutions when there don’t seem to be any. That’s what we do for the women who come our way.
This month, however, we were the ones who needed help. Right in the middle of remodeling to make room for new ultrasound services, a crisis hit. The spring thaw revealed an unresolved water seepage issue in our building.
Almost immediately, members of our community and the church congregation we rent space from pitched in to help us solve the problem.
Working side by side on this unexpected problem, we realized that this is what we are here for: pitching in with the gifts God has given us to help one another.
We are grateful beyond words for all the volunteers who worked to carry our furniture upstairs to give us a temporary educational room, tore down old walls, hauled away rubble, and packed our remaining “stuff” against the one wall that isn’t in the work zone.
Our friends have stepped up to do for Choices Pregnancy Center what we love doing for others. Because of our friends, we are going to make it over this bump in the road. Check out this video where we caught them in action:
With renewed appreciation for the people who make this community the caring place it is, we will continue befriending and supporting women and their families, knowing our friends have our back too.
